Our
Mission
The Gorge Birth Network was created to help families of the Gorge have a safe, positive and joyous birth experience. The Network is
dedicated to promoting mother and family friendly maternity care
and healthy families.
We realize that the Columbia River Gorge is a diverse and culturally
rich community. And with that comes a wide spectrum of philosophies
and practices regarding pregnancy, birth and postpartum care.
Our goal as a web resource is to share with the community the myriad
of perinatal information and resources available in the Gorge --
from the traditional to the alternative and everything in between.
We encourage you to use this site to explore the options available
to you. It is your responsibility to ask questions and educate yourself
so that you can find the best care for you.
Gorge Birth Doula Services provides Doula support services for women delivering in the Gorge area. The group consists of Mary Twombly RN, LMT, Delona Campos-Davis, Luisa Lucero RN, Meg Becker LMT, Sarah Heany, Cassie Fagion, Kim Stolte RN. They will provide on-call Doula services that include a prenatal visit, support during labor and birth, a postpartum visit and a gift of a SwaddleKeeper Baby Sleep System.
Connecting
The Gorge Birth Network provides resources for those who have experienced
birth challenges or pregnancy or newborn loss. Recognizing the need
for new parents to connect with others in similar situations, the
Network lists local support groups, parenting classes and play groups.
