Welcome Baby Visits for First-time Parents

By Karen Enns, 308-2238 or karene@nextdoorinc.org

Are you expecting your first child soon? If you reside in Oregon, we would love to welcome your new baby into our community by providing a “Welcome Baby Visit!” What is a Welcome Baby Visit, you might ask? It is a short visit with expectant parent(s) in order to let you know about the many resources and activities that are available in the community for young children and their parents. In addition to information and resources, we bring you:

  • Baby gifts that were lovingly made by local community members,
  • Booklets about child development and baby care,
  • Free samples of baby products,
  • And answer any questions you might have as you anticipate your new bundle of joy!

We can also let you know about community programs such as:

  • Play groups,
  • Breastfeeding assistance,
  • Library story times,
  • Parenting education opportunities,
  • Baby clothing and equipment exchange,
  • Car seat safety, and much, much more!

Welcome Baby Visits are provided by New Parent Services of Hood River County and Families First of Wasco & Sherman Counties, programs of The Next Door. It is our goal to provide each and every first-time parent in Oregon’s Gorge area with a Welcome Baby Visit.
