A
certified nurse midwife (C.N.M) is a registered nurse who
has completed additional training in nurse midwifery. They
are certified by the American College of Nurse-Midwives
and can deliver babies in the hospital. Licensed
midwives (L.M.) have completed training according to their
state's requirements but do not need to be registered nurses.
They are available for homebirths.
